	2012 New Mexico Family Leadership Conference April 12 - 13, 2012 Isleta Conference Center 11000 Broadway SE Albuquerque, New Mexico

The conference emphasizes helping families gain the skills they need to become full participants in their communities and to work towards systems change at all levels.

	This year's Conference will offer workshops in the areas of:
	General Education Health Special Education	Early Childhood Family Engagement Fatherhood
	There will be sessions available in Spanish and Navajo.

Family Leadership Action Network (FLAN) is a network of families working to promote the voices of families in order to influence the policies and the programs that affect them. FLAN builds on each family's strengths and knowledge and celebrates diversity. FLAN works for positive, family-friendly changes to systems that eliminate stereotyping and assumptions about the families they serve. FLAN promotes the importance of collaboration and relationship building to create positive outcomes for families, children, and communities.

Our Mission: To place the voices and issues of children and families at the top of New Mexico's agenda.

This conference offers opportunities to:

Help families get involved in their children's education

Learn to navigate the special education system

Gain insight and tools to navigate the medical system

Network with other families around the state; and

Make your voice count for children & families!

This conference qualifies for Title I, IDEA, Johnson O'Malley and funding from other sources that support family involvement.

Last year over 300 families, educators, administrators, and service providers from around the state attended our family leadership conference.
